How It All Started
Sergio Banderas- owner, started by curiosity in La Piedad Michoacán, when a carnicero was making Carnitas to sell for the day. He started observing the cooking methods, and one day he decided to sell Carnitas as well.
In a short period of time people preferred his Carnitas above many other vendors in town.
In 1996, he decided to come to the Coachella Valley and arrived in Cathedral City where he bought his first business on Hwy 111, El Guero #1. There he started selling snow cones and corn in the cob, snow cones weren't selling so good. Sergio figured since he had a license to sell food, he would make Carnitas to sell. His first sale was only $20 and from then on, through word of mouth, our Carnitas became popular. Today, many years later, we still own the best flavor in town.

We decided to try El Güero for a change, and we're very happy we did. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. My wife is celiac and has a dairy allergy, and they had no problem accommodating her. She loved her salmon fajitas and I had the molcajete Mar y Tierra, and it was amazing. Huge portions, so I get to have it for lunch tomorrow too. Can wait to go back. “Margs” were good too.
The service was welcoming & food & drinks & salsa & chips were Great! They have so many food choices & drinks! I would definitely recommend. The Jamaica was perfect & the Bahama Mama was delicious 😋 The carnitas fries & the combination plate enchilada & taco was tasty too. Will be going back soon!
We came here on Sunday midday. Their lunch special was fajitas. We got chicken fajitas, and we were pleased with the serving size. They were delicious! They included a generous amount of guacamole. The salsa was good. They have a mild that they bring you with chips and a spicier one that they will bring on request. Service was great too! We were very pleased with our experience and will return!
